Frequently asked questions

ARRIVAL

You will meet your leaders and team at SROM headquarters in Laramie, WY. The afternoon will start with introductions and an orientation time. You’ll then be issued gear and will learn how to pack your bag. Dinner will be provided. You may sleep at the SROM building that night or book a local accommodation. If you do book a local accommodation, we will not be able to provide rides to and from that night and the next morning. You will head out early the next morning with your team and drive to the trailhead.

Backpacking

You will spend 5 days backpacking in the epic Wind River Range. There you will see towering peaks, pristine alpine lakes and streams, and incredible starlit skies in some of the finest wilderness areas in North America. We will teach you the technical outdoor skills to thrive in the mountains, learning things such as campsite selection, route finding, and navigation.

Each day will have a spiritual theme with group time in the evenings that often includes worship, teaching, and discussion. Your leaders will model for you what it means to be a leader of the day (LOD) and then you will get a chance to be a leader of the day for at least one of the days on course. You will also get an extended time to reflect and spend time alone with God on a solo. The lessons will build upon each other, culminating with your final peak attempt.

Whether you are an expert in the mountains or a novice, this will be an unforgettable time with fellow brother’s in Christ, creating memories that will last a life-time.

Testimonies of Transformation

Hear what others experienced.
“This was a life changing experience. The opportunity to share openly was awesome. The lack of a judgemental, but rather life-giving environment was set by our leaders and made a huge difference.”

Questions About Covid-19

What if SROM has to cancel the course?

You will receive a full refund if we need to cancel the course.

Should I get travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend getting travel insurance and checking to see if it covers Covid-19 or not.

Not only is travel insurance helpful for a potential change in plans or a course closure, some travel insurance plans will also cover if you needed to be evacuated from a course for a medical emergency.
