Why I Want to Serve at SROM
I have been working as a summer hybrid instructor at SROM for the last two years, and during that time God has given me a lot of clarity on how the passions He has given me can be used to bring others closer to Him. This is what led me to feel called to pursue full-time work at SROM. For me, taking people into the wilderness and helping provide a space for them to encounter God and His love is the most incredible thing I can be doing with my life.
How I Will Serve
While some of the details are still being worked out, my role will include maintaining and updating the physical resources SROM has been blessed with. This includes the vehicles, building, grounds, and all the cool equipment that makes our wilderness trips possible and keeps our students safe. During the summers, I will also be working with the seasonal support staff to keep the logistics running smoothly. I will also continue to instruct wilderness trips.
How SROM Has Impacted My Life
In many ways, God has used SROM to grow me in my faith and identity as a son of God through the trips I’ve been on, as well as through the relationships with the other staff at SROM. I have also seen many of the students who come on courses leave with renewed purpose for service, the knowledge that they are truly loved by God, and even come to a saving faith for the first time.
About Me
I am 24 years old and grew up in Colorado, but I have spent the last 13+ years in Wyoming. My faith has been a central part of who I am my whole life. Ever since I was a kid, I have had a passion for the wilderness and the value it has in developing faith. God has blessed me with a grandpa who invested in me by taking me into the wilderness and mentoring me. He sparked my passion for what I am doing now.
In addition to discipleship, I am passionate about developing and teaching wilderness skills. Some of my favorite aspects are backpacking and wilderness living skills. I also have a great appreciation for history.
I am currently living in Laramie, WY, and am engaged to a beautiful, godly woman named Gloria. She came to Wyoming from Massachusetts to attend the University of Wyoming to study wildlife and fisheries. We met at church just under two years ago, and our wedding is scheduled for January 1st, 2027. I am so blessed to have a woman by my side who supports me and is passionate about what God is calling me to. I am very excited to work with SROM to advance the good news of the gospel and how we live out our new identity in Christ. I am learning a lot about trusting God as I prepare for marriage and full-time ministry. Thank you for your support and especially your prayers.
