Accreditation & Administrative Manager, BA – Colby College
Emily grew up in Tennessee, lucky enough to have a childhood full of creek-stomping, hay bales, and wandering in the nearby woods. She first considered that there might be a God in the wilderness settings of high school backpacking trips. The book of Romans and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis kickstarted her faith until she publicly claimed Christ in high school. She attended Colby College in Maine where she graduated with a BA in Environmental Biology and was involved in the Colby Christian Fellowship- first leading women’s Bible studies then becoming a part of the leadership team. She first worked at SROM in the summers during college, and joined the full time staff in the fall of 2010. Her passion for wilderness ministry grew out of her own encounters in the wilderness. Her heart is for people to grasp the depth of the Father’s love, being healed up and sent out as sons and daughters of God bringing Kingdom to earth. After spending time in Africa and traveling in Nepal, she dreams of going overseas to minister to remote people groups combining her wilderness skills and experience in environmental biology. Emily married Timothy Hall in 2012, beginning the next adventure of life with Christ.
I believe that the ministry at SROM is worth my time and efforts as I regularly get to witness the fruit and transformation of individuals. I believe in this ministry to the point that I have given up the “normal” American job that would provide pay or salary with benefits. It’s a liberating (and sometimes frightening) leap of faith to trust God for provision, and to continue to trust God for provision year after year. Through past and present supporters, He has proved faithful to meet needs. If you have been encouraged by student testimonies, consider joining my support team.
As our life has changed with the birth of our daughter Sylvie, I have set new support goals. My new goal is $2600/month. This will help with day-to-day expenses as well as long term goals, such as continued work on our ‘fixer-upper’ home. Unfortunately I lost some supporters at the end of 2016; my projected monthly income right now is $1500/month.
Please help me reach a sustainable financial goal of $2600 per month in regular giving. Pray about how you can support me in ministry at SROM, as we disciple sons and daughters to shine brightly for the Kingdom. Single/special gifts are appreciated, but a monthly commitment really helps me plan financially. Thank you!!
